E-mail Print PDF
Former Chairman of Turkish Historical Society Prof. Dr. Yusuf Halacoglu said that it is proved by historical documents that Armenians betrayed Ottoman Empire.
Former Chairman of Turkish Historical Society, Prof. Dr. Halacoglu gave a lecture entitled "Turkey and so called Armenian genocide in the tongs of parliaments" at Sivas Cumhuriyet University. During the conference which held in Culture Center, Halacoglu presented the documents that show the massacres that were committed by Armenians and said that there are documents that demonstrate the armories where Armenians kept the weapons which were used against Muslims.
Stressing that the groups in Turkey which apologize to Armenians do not look at what American archives between 1915 and 1920 tells about Armenian activities, Halacoglu said, "It is clearly shown in historical documents that Armenians betrayed Ottoman State and cooperated with foreign countries during the war". Stating that United States, France, England and Russia supplied Armenians and Armenian gangs with arms, Halacoglu called the countries which pass resolutions on so called Armenian genocide to first check what are there in their own history.
Stressing the importance of learning the history finely, Halacoglu called students to learn Turkish and Ottoman history and to stay away of admiring the West.
