'Karabakh viewed as part of Azerbaijan in international documents'

'No possibility of war and there is also no possibility of the Karabakh conflict solution.'

In all international documents on Karabakh adopted since 1992 Azerbaijan kept silent about the formulations according to which Karabakh is viewed as part of Azerbaijan, said secretary of the Heritage parliamentary faction Larisa Alaverdyan.

“This can be considered a wise political step, or, as I consider, a rude mistake, but this is a fact. And in fact, regardless of the document, Nagorno Karabakh has always been fixed as a territory of Azerbaijan either in a forum of an unrecognized formation, a separatist area or any other form. Unfortunately, even the Bishkek protocols fix it like this”, Alaverdyan said.

She also stressed the fact that the steps taken by the Armenian side after reconciliation did not promote the diplomatic and political fixing of military victories.

“These are the lands that belong to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic today, under its constitution and laws and today their status must be considered fixed and we should think over diplomatic and political successes like the successes in war of 1992-1994”, Alaverdyan said.

She also noted that there is no possibility of war and there is also no possibility of the Karabakh conflict solution, unless the negotiation process relies on the current basis.

Speaking about the foreign policy conduct of Armenia, Alaverdyan recalled the episode during the military parade held on the Red square in Moscow on May 9. She said during the march of the Azerbaijani division it was said that the Azerbaijanis made a great contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, while no such assessment was made of Armenian servicemen”, Alaverdyan said.
