Armenian descent Azerbaijani citizen Jeyna Zeynalova of Beylagan, supports position of Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Stating that she was once living in Nagorno-Karabakh and she had to leave her homeland because of Armenian occupation, Zeynalova said, "I had to immigrate first to Fizuli and then to Beylagan. I came here during the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Everybody fled the land. My husband and i did so. I am married with an Azerbaijani since 52 years and i never experienced anything bad from any of them. People are always respectful."
Commenting on the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Zeynalov said, "Azerbaijan is right on its position. Otherwise i would not be here. I condemn Armenia because of murdering innocent people and i consider those acts as wrong. I call Armenians to make peace. We just want to return our homeland."
The conflict between two South Caucasus countries started with the claims of Armenia over Azerbaijan's Nagorno-Karabakh region in 1988. Armenian army have occupied about 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including Nagorno-Karabakh and 7 surrounding regions. One million Azerbaijani became refugees and they living under tough conditions far away from their homeland.
It is reported that there are 30,000 of Armenian descent Azerbaijani citizen living in Azerbaijan who have the same rights as any other Azerbaijani citizen.
