Armenian Heritage Party Member and Director of the “Akunk” analytical center Ruben Hakobyan said that process of resettlement of Nagorno-Karabakh gained acceleration following the meetings in Washington during the Nuclear Security Summit.
"The developments regarding to Nagorno-Karabakh problem are worrying. I do not expect any progress in the settlement of the problem in near future," Armenian expert said.
Stating that the rapprochment between Turkey and Russia fears Armenia, Hakobyan said, "It should be noted that the situation is worrying, if we consider the stances of OSCE MG co-chairs, Turkey and Russia."
"Armenia gave Turkey a chance to make manoeuver"
Hakobyan stated that Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan gave Turkey to make manoeuver with his decision to suspend Turkey-Armenia protocols.
According to the report of Tert.am, Ruben Hakobyan said, "Armenia gave Turkey the best occasions with the decision of Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan to halt the process of ratification of protocols in the Armenian Parliament. Till the last decision of Armenia, Turkey was being urged to ratify protocols in a reasonable time frame. But with this decision, Armenia told Turkey it can ratify the protocols whenever it wants."
Suggesting Armenia to neutralize Turkey from Nagorno-Karabakh problem settlement, Hakobyan said, "Turkey and Armenia should agree on ratification of protocols in reasonable time frame. If Turkey does not ratify protocols until then, Armenia should withdraw its signature from protocols. That will strengthen Armenia's hand in the international field and neutralize Turkey's mediation in the settlement of Karabakh conflict."
