United States expressed its position on the "elections" in Nagorno-Karabakh

E-mail Print PDF
No country in the world, including the United States recognizes the so-called “Nagorno – Karabakh Republic” or the so-called “parliament elections,” to be held on May 23, 2010. The official position of the U.S. was commented to AzerTAc by a State Department official.

The United States is committed at the highest levels to supporting the efforts of the OSCE's Minsk Group to mediate a peaceful solution to the Nagorno–Karabakh conflict.

As a Minsk Group Co-Chair, the U.S. works with the parties – Armenia and Azerbaijan – to seek a long-term resolution to the conflict based upon the Helsinki Final Act principles of non-use-of force, self-determination and territorial integrity.
