'Armenia not to surrender any lands to Azerbaijan'

E-mail Print PDF
Armenia does not intend to surrender any lands to Azerbaijan in the area of the Karabakh conflict, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian said.

“The surrender of any lands to Azerbaijan is not at issue today”, he said Friday answering journalists’ questions about the European parliament resolution containing appeal to withdraw Armenian troops from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan.

Speaker of the Armenian parliament Hovik Abrahamyan has sent an official letter to chairman of the European parliament Jerzy Buzek which says that the European Parliament resolution on the settlement of conflicts in the South Caucasus region contradicts to the negotiation process on the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

According to the report of News-Armenia, the letter says that the author of the resolution-Kirillov-found it unnecessary to consult with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, in particular with a representative of the EU member-state-France which has caused unacceptable distortions in formulations related to Karabakh.
