Turkish historian of Armenian descent Levon Panos Dabaghyan refuted Armenian genocide allegations and said, "I would not be here if Turks had committed a genocide."
Giving a lecture entitled "Armenian Issue in the Light of Historical Documents" organized by Organization for Fighting Against Baseless Armenian Claims in Yalova, historian of Armenian descent Levon Panos Dabaghyan said that Turks did not commit a genocide against Armenians. "Allegations of genocide is nothing more than the baseless allegations of imperialist powers," said he.
Stating that he is also a Turk who was born and grow up in Anatolia, Dabaghyan said, "I would not be here if Turks had committed a genocide. We are among those whose hearts beat for this country. If they claim that such a genocide is committed in Turkish territory, then the problem should be solved here in Turkey. I cannot understand why they include Armenia in this issue... I am 77 years old and i spent 50 years to serve this country. If I had another chance, i would do the same. The word "Armenian" is not something to use as a tool in this country. They are aiming to divide us. We should think how we are separated while we were living side by side. We need Armenian parliamentarians in our Parliament to be able to solve this problem."
