At a joint press conference with Argentinean Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian refuted the statements of Deputy Chairman of External Affairs of Justice and Development Party official Suat Kiniklioglu and stated that there is not a new document on the table of Armenia that includes a new road map toward normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia.
According to the report of Tert.am, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian replied questions of journalists over the recent statements of  Member of Turkish Parliament and Spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Turkish governing party Suat Kiniklioglu about a new proposal over Turkish-Armenian normalization. "It is an outright lie. I do not need to comment on lies," said he.
During a conference at a think-tank organization in Washington, Kiniklioglu said that normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations is a heartbeat away from being and there is a new proposal on the table of Armenia to evaluate. Stating that Turkey and Armenia have agreed to stay "silent" for a while to consider on the proposal, Kinikoglu said that it is up to Armenia whether accept the proposal or not.
Turkish Hurriyet newspaper wrote on May 17 that Turkey negotiates with Washington and Moscow administration over withdrawal of Armenian troops from 2 regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh in return of opening of borders. Hurriyet claimed that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan tried to convince Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev over new proposal during his visit to Baku.
