E-mail Print PDF

Presidential official has commented on the possible appointment of Matthew Bryza as the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

"Matthew Bryza’s candidacy has so far been presented by the Obama administration, which must still be approved by the Senate and Congress", chief of the International Relations Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Novruz Mamedov,  said while commenting on the possible appointment of Matthew Bryza as the US ambassador to Azerbaijan. According to Mammadov, M. Bryza is familiar with the region and is a good candidate.

Speaking about the blacklist, drawn up by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on persons visiting the separatist region of Azerbaijan, Mammadov said Azerbaijan has always had a negative attitude towards any attempt to support breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Drawing a black list of persons visiting Nagorno-Karabakh is natural for Azerbaijan as an independent state", he said.
