Peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem is a better option, said Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov.

For this reason, Azerbaijan has been so far locked in negotiations and opportunities still exist in the peace talks. If Armenia continues to disregard international legal norms, it will mean a serious crisis of international law, he said.

Ali Ahmadov noted some elements of crisis in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution are evident. He underlined, that every country will try solve the problem using their own resources. It will lead to undesirable scenario. The international community must prevent it.

He found the need to establish respective structures to enforce international law. He pointed out there is no effective mechanism to force Armenia obey international law.

“Such mechanisms may be created on the basis of UN's experience. I think there is a very serious need in creation of such kind of the mechanism functioning fairly,” Ahmadov said.
