E-mail Print PDF

An article published in Israeli 'Haaretz' newspaper wrote it sounds so absurd that Israel avoided to recognize "Armenian genocide" for years to preserve strategical alliance when one thinks that Turkey now became Iran's best friend".

An article by Anshel Pfeffer published on Israeli 'Haaretz' newspaper commented on the issue of non-recognition of so called Armenian genocide by Israeli Knesset and recent developments in Turkish-Iranian relations. Haaretz wrote, "Israeli governments stood against the initiatives towards recognition of "Armenian genocide" by Israel to avoid harming the strategical alliance with Turkey. Israeli lobbying organization in United States, Anti-Defamation League (ADL) also terminated initiatives towards recognition of 'Armenian genocide'. It sounds so absurd that Israel avoided to recognize "Armenian genocide" for years to preserve strategical alliance when you think that Turkey now became Iran's best friend".
