E-mail Print PDF

G20 Summit will be held in Toronto, Canada, June 26-27. Armenian Cause Office has initiated an online petition campaign calling Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to include so called Armenian genocide on the agenda of the summit.

The letter of Armenian organization to Canadian Prime Minister reads, "We are calling reaffirmation of recognition of 'Armenian genocide' and for encouraging countries that have not recognized it yet. We call for pressing on Turkey for it to repeal Article 301 in Turkish Penal Code and not only stop the denial but also to recognize 'Armenian genocide' but also to provide restitution for the heirs of the victims."

It should be noted that Turkey is a member of G20 and Prime Minister Erdogan will attend to the summit in Toronto.

Canada recognized Armenian allegations regarding to 1915 incidents in 1996.
