E-mail Print PDF

Two thousand signatures are collected in Munich for a call towards a critical dialogue on so called Armenian genocide.

The signatures that are being collected all over the country will be presented to the German Parliament in the middle of July.

According to the report of Postgazetesi.com, the petition that Turkish German Education Organization launched towards a critical dialogue on so called Armenian genocide got the support of 2 thousand people in Munich. The campaign, which is being continued under the leadership of Dr. Ali Soylemezoglu in Germany, collected 2 thousand signatures in Munich. President of South Bavaria Turkish Organizations Coordination Commission, Serafettin Kurtkan, who leads the Munich leg of the campaign, informed the press over the campaign.

"We have collected 2 thousand signatures only in Munich. We will present these signatures to the German Parliament in the middle of July together with other signatures collected in other cities. These signatures will be presented to all of the political parties in the parliament. Besides, we will invite them to discuss the issue toghether. If they do not respond the initiative, we will ask why. We aim to bring Turkish and Armenian experts together around a table to discuss and analyse the issue scientifically. This discussion should be broadcasted both on Turkish and German televisions so whole world can see what the parties of the conflict consider about the issue. Many people in Europe believes that Armenians were massacred in 1915. Armenians also think that way. Most of these people are sincere in their thoughts as they really believe that such thing had happened. Here what we say; We will listen your arguments, but we have a condition. You will listen us too. If they reject such a fair proposal, they will lose their credibility."
