Baku Blacklist Seven French Mps For Visiting Karabakh

E-mail Print PDF

Azerbaijan’s FM has included seven French parliamentarians who illegally visited the occupied Azerbaijani lands into the list of persona non grata. 'We have found the confirmation of the information about the visit of French deputies Richard Mallier, Arlet Groscot, Pascal Crauson, Michel Difenbaker, Rene Rouquet, Jean Pierre Delanoir and François Rochebloine to Karabakh and have included their names into the list of persons whose visit to Azerbaijan is undesirable. These persons are declared personas non grata in Azerbaijan', said spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Elkhan Polukhov.

'The fact that the representatives of the legislative body should understand the importance of the law of a sovereign state are breaking the law of another sovereign state even if it is done to please French voters of Armenian nationality is surprising', said he.

Polukhov noted that Baku will continue this policy on persons that do not respect the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

'This policy of the Azerbaijani state regarding political figures of any rank and any country will further continue. Therefore, people who occupy definite positions and are representatives of the election bodies should be more serious to such proposals related to the visit to the occupied Azerbaijani lands', said the spokesman.

Earlier the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan included names of five Russian deputies who monitored the so-called "parliamentary elections" in Karabakh into this black list.
