"Karabakh War Caused 60-70 Billion AZN Of Damage To Azerbaijan"

E-mail Print PDF

“It has been estimated that the Karabakh war caused damage of 60-70 billion AZN to Azerbaijan. But this number will be calculated again after lands are liberated”, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov said.

To him, the war caused hundreds times more damage to Azerbaijan than to Armenia. Committee chairman said that Armenians who migrated from Azerbaijan 5-6 years ago lodged a complaint with the European Court with a claim of damage caused to them.

And seeing this, Azerbaijani IDPs and refugees made a complaint to this organization as well. “European Court began viewing these issues. But it seems that, Armenians interfered in this case too. After seeing mass appeals of Azerbaijani IDPs, European court began to close this case, as it knew the size of damage caused to Azerbaijan," Hasanov added.
