Political scientist Zardusht Alizade considers that regional superpowers will increase pressure on Armenia which will affect the latter.
'We have recently observed the activeness of the Turkish policy from Middle Asia to the Middle East and, certainly, this circumstance annoys Washington', said political scientist Zardusht Alizade, commenting on the statement of the US congressmen who threatened with the worsening of relations with Ankara for its anti-Israeli policy.
'Washington which is not used to disobedience now sees a different Turkey that conducts an independent policy. At the same time, the United States understands that it is impossible to stop Ankara. Turkey’s economy is developing along with the military, tourism and industrial sector and Ankara has a potential to continue such an independent policy.
Turkey’s position on events in Kyrgyzstan and Middle East is worthy of appraisal. It demonstrates a very positive and active diplomacy', he said.
As for whether it is possible to expect Turkey’s greater activeness in the Caucasus, the political scientist said Ankara is active in the Caucasus which makes Armenia nervous.
'But Armenia’s such position does not promise it anything good. Yerevan must consider the worsening relations between Ankara and Tehran', Alizade noted.
