Armenian Expert: US More Interested In Suspension Of Turkish - Armenian Process Rather Than Its Resumption

E-mail Print PDF

Suspension of the Armenian-Turkish process was quite a heavy blow for the US, political expert Sergey Minasyan told reporters today. He noted that for the US now a serious situation has been created in the Middle East.

“Turkey is behaving like a serious opponent for the US not only in the Armenian-Turkish normalization process, but also in Turkish-Israeli and Iran-related issues,” the expert said.

According to him, the most serious conflict in Turkish-American relations came after Turkey voted against the UN Security Council resolution over applying sanctions against Iran.

“Currently the US will be more interested in the freezing of Armenian-Turkish process rather than its resumption,” the expert said, noting that the possible visit of the US State Secretary Hillary Clinton will not mark the beginning of a new process.
