E-mail Print PDF

Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan claimed that process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia has failed because of the unwillingness of Turkish leaders and the pressure of Azerbaijan. "Turkey's 'zero problems' policy gave zero results," said he.

Accusing Turkey of being reluctant over normalizing its relations with Armenia, Sarksyan claimed that Ankara's policy of zero problems with neighbours gives zero results. Speaking at Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Germany, Sarksyan commented on the reasons of the failure of Turkish-Armenian process. "Besides not fulfilling its commitments and not ratifying protocols, Turkey returned to the previous level and set preconditions," said Armenian leader.

According to the report of Public Radio of Armenia, Sarksyan claimed that Turkish-Armenian border is the last closed border in whole Europe expressing the reason as Turkey's unwillingness towards normalization and Azerbaijan's pressure over Turkey. He said that the situation in the region is not going to change unless Turkey stops seeking preservation of its interests through conflicts.
