United States To Provide $625,000 For The Restoration Of Ani Ruins

US State Department announced that United States will provide $625,000 to the World Monuments Fund for the restoration project of Saint Christ Chuch in the Ani Ruins in Kars, Turkey.

The projects that will be supported by American Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Protection, which was founded by the U.S. Congress in 2000 within the State Department, have been selected. Among the projects that United States will support is the Saint Christ Church in Ani ruins. Besides the Saint Christ Church, many other Armenian historical buildings are placed in these ruins.

The World Monuments Fund is a New York based organization aiming to preserve historical and cultural monuments all around the World. According to the report of Voice of America, organization aims to increase touristic potential of the artifact through restoration.
