E-mail Print PDF

As Ankara-Washington ties suffer a tensed period, delegation of American Turkish Council (ATC) holds official talks in Ankara. Richard Armitage, Former Deputy Secretary of State and the Chairman of the American Turkish Council stated that Turkish-American relations experience a tough period following the adoption of the Armenian bill at Foreign Affairs Committee of U.S. House of Representatives. "There are several strong ties between two countries in the economical field and cooperation on the issues including Afghanistan and Iraq," said he.

Stressing that he is afraid that Armenian resolution might be brought on the agenda of U.S. Congress, Armitage reminded of the Congressional elections in November and warned that Congress may pass Armenian resolution in a sudden move.
