Such frequent violation of the ceasefire by Armenia is connected with its defeat in the negotiations, director of the Center for Political Innovation and Technologies, political analyst Mubariz Ahmedoglu told Trend
"Armenians simply lost in the negotiating process. If the Armenians were able, they would not allow the document, to be accepted, to remain in the center of attention. However, there is such a document. It is not in the interests of Armenians. So they are trying to divert attention," Ahmedoglu said.
June 18 Azerbaijani military men conducted actions to prevent the Armenian provocation. As a result, four Armenian commandos were killed and four - injured.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994.
The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh region and the occupied territories.
The analyst said that the Armenians present themselves throughout the world as a strong side from the military point of view.
"They themselves believe in their lie. Therefore, having lost in diplomacy, they decided to try the military method," the analyst said.
Azerbaijani scouts had accurate information about the upcoming sabotage against Azerbaijan by Armenian military men, Ahmedoglu said. Those Armenian armed forces were neutralized to prevent sabotage.
"An Azerbaijani soldier neutralized eight Armenian saboteurs. This is a reply to the statements of Armenians on their military power," Ahmedoglu said.
