'Americans lay claims for the deployment of their forces in Fizuli.'

Iran will not allow deployment of foreign peacekeeping forces in the Karabakh conflict zone near Iranian border, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Saqqaiyan told the journalists on June 23.

He also noted that it is early to speak of this as far as Karabakh process progresses in the format of OSCE Minsk Group.

As to the deployment of Turkish armed forces in Nakhchivan, the Ambassador said that they yet have no such information, but if it happens it will conflict with Turkey’s ‘zero problems with neighbors’ policy.

The Ambassador stated that Americans lay claims for the deployment of their forces in Fizuli, which will definitely be opposed by Iran.

Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Saghaeyan labeled the recent incident at the contact line as a ‘provocation from outside’.

“We are extending our condolences to the families of those killed,” he said during a news conference in Yerevan on June 23.
