E-mail Print PDF

Holding a press conference on June 23, one of the leaders of Armenian Dashnak Party, Kiro Manoyan stated that Armenia should totally withdraw from the protocols which two countries signed in the mediation of Switzerland towards normalization of bilateral relations. "The process is against the interests of Armenia," said he.

News.am's Turkish service reported that Manoyan said, "If you have left all the initiatives for the opposite party, it means that you are not the winning party in the process." Stating that Turkey has reached its goal by having the documents signed, nationalist politician claimed that Turkey has several documents with Azerbaijan, Syria and Sweden which it has not yet ratified. "It is unknown if Turkey will ever ratify these documents," said he.

Manoyan said, "Therefore, Turkey may always postpone the ratification of Turkish-Armenian protocols and it may cause Armenia to stuck in a process without future." Stating that Turkey should have political will for establishment of diplomatic relations, opening of borders and resolution of the rest of the problems on the basis of international laws, Manoyan said, "On the other hand, Turkey does not aim to change its hostile attitude against Armenia."
