Alexander Rahr: No one needs Nagorno-Karabakh

E-mail Print PDF

According to german expert Alexander Rahr, Europe is interested in seeing the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolved, but at the same time it has a lot more problems to be concerned about. Rahr expressed such opinion to News Armenia.  Rahr also expressed his view on why the International community did not react on the armed incident on the frontline of azerbaijani and armenian armies.

"They did not react, because no one wants to get deeper into all this. Europe is quite far away from Karabakh conflict, and it has its own problems to deal with. No one is interested in Nagorno-Karabakh, I'd say they're much more interested in energy and transportation corridors. Europe needs good relations with Azerbaijan because of the Nabucco project, so as of now, they stick to the neutral position." explained the expert.
