E-mail Print PDF

'Recently, ceasefire violations by Armenia increased more.

It is impossible to solve the problem and change the situation of occupation by withdrawing the snipers from the contact line' said head of the press service of Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-Colonel Eldar Sabiroglu.

'Suppose that snipers will be pushed back. What’s new will occur there? Will the firing be ceased from other types of weapons? We can say that every day the Armenian armed forces fire on the positions of Azerbaijani army with large-caliber weapons.

Recently, ceasefire violations by Armenia increased more. We see these messages every day and distribute them. So the main question is not snipers, and the first condition for settlement of the conflict is the withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied territories' said Sabiroglu.

Note that, recently information on withdrawal of snipers from the contact line appears in Armenian press. Armenians claim that, despite repeated requests in this regard to the Azerbaijani side, their initiatives are unsuccessful.
