China Urges Restraint By Parties Involved in Nagorno-Karabakh Clash

Today, Spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Qin Gang commented on the skirmish on the line of contact between Armenia and Azerbaijan June 18, Xinhua news agency reported. "China has consistently taken a clear position on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue", Qin Gang said.

He added that China hopes that the disputes will be resolved peacefully. Stressing that there is no change in the position of China, he expressed hope that concerned parties will show enough political wisdom to find a solution through negotiation and dialogue. 

Such results are in the interests of Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as peace and stability in the region, he said.
