Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, "Turkey will be the first country which will raise its voice in case of an atrocity against Turkmens, Kurds or Arabs in Iraq."
Speaking at the parliament during debates on a draft about foundation and duties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Davutoglu said, "on each occasion, we underlined our sensitivity about the Upper Karabakh dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia."
Referring to the issue of Iraq, Davutoglu said, "Turkey has always extended support to Kurdish people throughout the history. For instance, Kurds who migrated from Iraq between 1988 and 1991 were hosted in Turkey. Turkey will be the first country which will raise its voice in case of an atrocity against Turkmens, Kurds or Arabs in Iraq."
Asked about his meeting with Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Benjamin Ben Eliezer in Brussels, Davutoglu said that it was Israeli party which made the demand for the meeting.
Touching on the relations with the United States, Davutoglu said that there were no problems between the two countries, adding, "Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Barack Obama met in Toronto and discussed all issues with an understanding of alliance."
Davutoglu added that Turkey was against nuclear weapons in its region and in the world.
