Azerbaijan Has Great Expectations From US in Karabakh Settlement

A senior official at the Presidential Administration said upcoming months will show the results of the visit Clinton to the region.

Baku wishes continuation of cooperation with Washington on the basis of mutual respect and protection of interests and in this connection consider the recent visit of US Secretary of State Clinton to the region to be very important, said chief of department of foreign relations of the administration of the President of Azerbaijan, Novruz Mammadov, ANS TV reported.

'These issues are important to us. I think the United States are aware of the role and influence of Azerbaijan in this region, as well as its great importance in international cooperation', Mammadov said.

'Therefore, the upcoming months will show the results of the visit', he said.

According to the official, the visit of the US Secretary of State to Azerbaijan was important in terms of exchange of views on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

'As a global power and the Minsk Group co-chair, the United States supports the peace settlement of this conflict by way of talks within the framework of international law and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan', he said.

'We have great expectations from the United States in current conditions, especially in the analysis of the recent processes', Mammadov said.
