Armenia Stares At Turkish Border After Clinton's Visit

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's statements during her visit to Azerbaijan and Armenia turned the eyes of Armenian political scientists over Turkish borders once again.

The statement of Clinton which confirmed Armenia's policy and urged Turkey to make new steps stating that "the ball is at Turkey's field now", is evaluated by Armenian political scientists as one of the signals for opening of Turkish-Armenian borders.

Giragosian: Turkish-Armenian Borders to be Opened in September

Director of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS), Richard Giragosian claimed that Ankara administration will open borders in Semtember at least temporarily. "By opening borders, Ankara will give a respond to the visit of Hillary Clinton and give a message to Washington to not to ignore Turkey. Turkey's new plans will certainly not accomodate with Azerbaijan's," said he.

Iskandaryan: United States to Open Turkish-Armenian Border

Director of Caucasus Institute, Alexander Iskandaryan stated that United States made it clear that it supports continuation of Turkish-Armenian rapprochement process. "United States supports opening of borders. Opening of Turkish-Armenian border is a matter of time. It is also possible that borders may be opened without waiting the ratification of protocols," said he.
