Clinton’s visit will also promote active involvement of the United States into the diplomatic efforts on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

The visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the South Caucasus will improve mutual understanding between Baku and Washington and promote US intensification in the Karabakh conflict settlement, considers sources in the Azerbaijani diaspora.

'Primarily, we should expect improvement in mutual understanding between our countries which are strategic partners', said chairman of the American Azerbaijani Council Jeyhun Mollazade, commenting on the results of the recent visit of Clinton to the region.

He said Clinton’s visit will also promote active involvement of the United States into the diplomatic efforts on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

'I think the US leadership being aware of the problem existing between Baku and Yerevan will come to understand that it damages the issues of security and cooperation in the region. In this sense, the United States will certainly urge Yerevan to make compromises though it is unclear yet whether this appeal will be backed by some effective levers', said the representative of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
