Azerbaijani Patience Wearing Thin Over Ongoing Armenian Occupation

People are getting fed up with the long drawn-out process of finding a solution to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Karabakh.

"The protracted solution of the Karabakh conflict is exhausting the patience of the Azerbaijani people," Eldar Ibrahimov, chairman of parliament's agricultural policy committee and a member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, has said.

He told the ruling New Azerbaijan Party website that the role of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs had been to mediate and organize meetings of the sides.

"The Azerbaijani president has repeatedly expressed his position of principle on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict and the Azerbaijani people fully supports this position. But the Armenian president cannot demonstrate political will," Ibrahimov said.

"In turn, the Azerbaijani people are against protraction of the conflict. Today Azerbaijan is developing in all fields including the military sphere. It would be good if Armenia demonstrated a constructive attitude, otherwise war is the alternative. If necessary, we are ready to liberate our lands through war," the party website quotes Eldar Ibrahimov as saying.
