The 7th Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan drew to a close on 18 July. Some 120 films were shown during the festival out of 500 applications. Forty-five films competed in three categories and were judged by an international jury.
The main prize, the Golden Apricot for the Best Feature Film, was awarded to Kosmos, written and directed by Turkey's Reha Erdem.
The Silver Apricot prize was awarded to My Joy by Sergei Loznitsa.
Pavel Kostomarov's Together was awarded the Golden Apricot for the Best Documentary Film, while the Silver Apricot went to The Woman with the Five Elephants by Vadim Jendreyko.
In the Armenian Panorama Competition, the Golden Apricot went to Arman Yeritsyan and Inna Sahakyan for The Last Tightrope Dancer in Armenia.
The second prize was awarded to Koms Chahbazian for Down Here.
Nikolay Davtyan earned special mention for his Uncle Valya.
The FPRESCI Jury Award went to Jasmila Zbanic for the film On the Path.
The Ecumenical Jury Award went to Suren Babayan for Don't Look in the Mirror, and the Special Recommendation to Aleksei Popogrebsky for How I Ended This Summer.
The Hrant Matevosyan Prize went to Marat Sargsyan for the short film Lernavan, which also received the Best Short Film Award by the British Council in Armenia.
