Azerbaijan’s adherence to the peace negotiation process should be assessed as the last chance for Armenia. The nonconstructive position of official Yerevan in the negotiation process has led the international forces interested in the settlement of the conflict to a deadlock, deputy chairman and executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, Ali Ahmadov, said in the interview with Azerbaijan newspaper.
'The demonstration on the nonconstructive position by official Yerevan during the negotiation process has led Armenia to a deadlock. Powers interested in the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict are also in different state. This fact also damages the influence of international forces', he said.
The next meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia with participation of the foreign ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in Almaty on July 17 within the framework of the unofficial summit of the OSCE foreign ministers was ineffective.
According to deputy chairman of the ruling party, Azerbaijan’s adherence to the peace negotiation process should be assessed as the last chance for Armenia.
'This should be assessed this way since Azerbaijan’s limit of patience is exhausting and the mediation mission engaged in the resolution of this process understands this', said Ahmadov commenting on the results of the Almaty meeting.
He said the current realities on the resolution of the conflict have changed dramatically and the details of the negotiation process have been disclosed.
'Everyone is familiar with the renewed variant of the Madrid principles and everyone is making his conclusions. Therefore, a favorable international climate has been created for the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict', said Ahmadov adding that this fact has intensified the activity of international troops.
'International forces understand well that the provision of durable peace and stability in the South Caucasus and Europe is impossible without the resolution of the Karabakh conflict', Ahmadov said.
