US Azerbaijanis Call Senators Confirm Matthew Bryza’s Nomination

E-mail Print PDF

USAN – US Azerbaijanis Network has started a campaign to help have a US ambassador to Azerbaijan, and oppose the Armenian lobby’s attempts to degrade and downgrade U.S.-Azerbaijan relations.

The confirmation of Matthew Bryza is scheduled for today at 10am in 419 Dirksen. Senator Shaheen will preside.

USAN calls on its members to write Senators so that they confirm Mr. Bryza. “As your constituent, and as active Azerbaijani-Americans, being very interested in the blossoming and deepening relations between US and Azerbaijan, and thankful for Azerbaijan’s pro-Western status as our strategic ally that made many sacrifices by, among other things, sending its peacekeeping troops to Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan, we recognize that our bilateral relations cannot expand without an active Ambassador who is an expert on the region and can start performing his important duties from day one. Hence, it is a no brainer that we support the nomination and want to see the post of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan filled as soon as possible”, says the letter.
