"Karabakh mediators presented updated Madrid principles to presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia year ago at the OSCE session in Greek capital, Athens.
However, the proposals made by the Russian president in Saint Petersburg can fix the position of only this country', said political scientist Rasim Musabeyov, commenting on the statements about possible resolution of the Karabakh conflict on the basis of the Saint-Petersburg proposals.
'These proposals do not fix the positions of the Minsk Group, while the presidents of Russia and Armenia can want much. Though nothing was reported on this content, but we would like the soonest and fair resolution of the conflict on the basis of the Saint-Petersburg proposals'.
He said Armenians merely want Nagorno Karabakh to be transferred under Armenia's control to further discuss the return of all seven regions: "But this is impossible", he said.
