Azerbaijanis Asked to Report Violence of Dashnaks Against People in 1918-1920

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office appeals to citizens.

Department for Investigation of Grave Crimes of Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office continues investigation of the criminal case on mass killing of civil Azerbaijanis, plundering of their property by Armenian-dashnak armed units in Baku guberniya, Guba, Shamakhy and other regions of Azerbaijan, press service of the Prosecutor’s Office said.

Though much time has passed since then, the investigation materials contain the genocide committed by Armenian-dashnak armed units against Azerbaijani people in 1918-1920, and presentation of important written documents, books, scientific studies, newspaper and journal articles, letters, photo, video materials can help all-round, objective investigation.

Citizens, including legal and natural persons are asked to present the materials containing any information about the abovementioned crimes committed by Armenian nationalist armed units in Azerbaijan in 1918-1920 or to appeal to the investigation department for giving testimony.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan said criminal investigation of the unrests in Sumgayit on February 27-29, 1988 was also continued.

Despite a long time has passed since those events, investigation materials keep the facts of annexation of Nagorno Karabakh by Armenia and that the unrests in Sumgayit in February, 1988 were organized by outside forces to form negative image for the Azerbaijani people. All written documents, books, scientific researches, newspapers and magazine articles, letters, as well as photo, video and other materials proving it will assist the full, objective and comprehensive investigation.

The citizens, as well as legal and physical entities are requested to submit any material about 1988 Sumgayit events, if they have, to the investigators.
