US Not Assisting Separatists of Nagorno Karabakh

The United States does not provide any assistance to unrecognized separatist regime of Nagorno Karabakh.

Chief of the information department of the US embassy in Azerbaijan Kit Bin commenting on the information spread by Armenian mass media that in 2011 the United States will allocate $10m dollars to the separatist regime of Nagorno Karabakh, said from 2002 the US government allocates about $2m on humanitarian projects in Nagorno Karabakh which includes demining, construction of buildings, repair of schools, primary medical and sanitary assistance, as well as agriculture.

'The last funds were sent only to demining and projects in the sphere of water supply. The allocated funds are always sent directly to executer organizations.

The United States also allocated amounts of money in Azerbaijan for support of measures on demining and assistance to displaced persons in Nagorno Karabakh', he said.
