Members of Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), one of the major Armenian lobby organizations in United States, urged the Nancy Peloci, the Speaker of US House of Representatives, to bring so called Armenian genocide resolution for a floor vote at the House.

Meeting with Pelosi at a fundraising event, Armenian diaspora representatives called Pelosi to bring H.Res.252, which recognizes 1915 incidents as a genocide against ethnic Armenians in Ottoman Empire, for a full vote at the US House.

During the program, Nancy Pelosi stated that several President candidates in United States pledged American Armenians to recognize Armenian allegations regarding 1915 incidents but non of them realized their pledge. “In order to have any moral authority to talk about humanity and the genocides in Rwanda, Darfur or anywhere else, the United States must properly acknowledge the ‘Armenian Genocide’. A failure to acknowledge the ‘Armenian Genocide’ undermines the moral authority of the United States and hinders the ability of our nation to be a strong voice for what is right,” Pelosi said according to Asbarez.
