E-mail Print PDF

The Armenian soldiers have noted that the disastrous situation in Armenia is especially manifested in the state of the armed forces of the country.

Armenian soldiers who run away to the Azerbaijani side are unwilling to return home, stating the poor situation in Armenia, in general, and in Armenian army, in particular.

Ogan Arturyan and Gevorg Tomosyan told in the interview to Azerbaijan’s Lider TV channel broadcast on Monday that they decided to escape to Azerbaijan being unable to stand the torture and humiliations from their fellows.

'I am a close relative of Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan. Through the period of service we have seen only humiliations, abusive actions and chaos. But I have not appealed to Ohanyan. I know that it is all senseless, since everyone knows that he is a dishonest man. And the state of the army complies with its minister', Arturyan said.

The Armenian soldiers have noted that the disastrous situation in Armenia is especially manifested in the state of the armed forces of the country. 'Any discipline is out of the question. The military command cannot find soldiers for protection of posts which has become a real headache for it.

No people are left in Armenia itself, not speaking of the army', one of the soldiers said. He noted that the possible resumption of the Armenian-Azerbaijani war will have the heaviest implications for Armenia.

The fugitives said that in several months of staying in Azerbaijan they passed regular medical examination and they are treated humanely.

According to the TV channel, due structures continue to deal with the issue of the Armenian servicemen who are unwilling to return to Armenia and the talks about sending them to the third country are underway.
