Turkey has started to prepare its defence against the lawsuit filed by two Armenian Americans in a court in Los Angeles in case the lawsuit is accepted by the US court, Turkish Aksam daily reported.
According to the information provided by diplomatic sources, Turkey has started to prepare its defence although it is not yet known whether the lawsuit will be accepted by the local court or not. According to the sources, in the case of acceptance of the lawsuit, Turkey will illustrate with documents that the estates and lands of Ottoman Armenians were returned to their owners who had to immigrate to another part of the Empire during the civil war in 1915.
According to Aksam Ankara administration will also provide American court the documents that illustrate Ottoman Armenians who does not want their old land or estates were paid by the Turkish government with the same amount that their belongings worthed.
