Armenians Continue To Leave Nagorno-Karabakh

E-mail Print PDF

Big part of Azerbaijani society accepts the military solution of the long lasting Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Armenian politician Vardan Hachatryan. Hachatryan believes, Armenia is ready for war, yet the only concern is the possibility of a sudden attack by Azerbaijani forces.

"In the case of a sudden attack on Stepanakert (Khankendi), innocent citizens might get hurt", Hachatryan said.

By saying this, Hachatryan actually supports the unofficial opinion, that Armenians continue to leave Karabakh. According to TURAN agency citing the sources on North Caucasus, the number of Armenians leaving Nagorno-Karabakh has increased twice.

This process has had a profound influence on the fall in housing prices in Karabakh and economic indicators as well. Attempts of local authorities to take measures on this problem are yet to show any results.
