Vandals have removed the Azerbaijani flag outside Cardiff Castle and replaced it with the flag of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh republic.
When Azerbaijanis living in the Welsh capital saw what had happened earlier this month, they asked the local authorities to remove the separatist flag.
Javid Abbaszade from Cardiff said the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs had been informed about the incident.
Armenians in the Azerbaijani territory of Nagorno-Karabakh have proclaimed their own republic, which remains unrecognized worldwide.
