The countries co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group are developing the second phase "of the Zurich operation”, encouraging the continuation of Armenian-Turkish process, according to leader of the "New Times" party Aram Karapetian.

In fact, "Zurich-2" will not differ much from the previous Armenian-Turkish operation, said Aram Karapetian, adding that as far as he knows the economic component  is also added including the creation of free zones, promoting trade and so on. "In other words, there is a proposal to provide finances. In other words, they offer to hand over the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and an open border in exchange, but this time monay will also be given for execution of these goals”, he said.

He considers that Armenia is now encourage to resume the Armenian-Turkish process. "Iran was supposed to create a free trade area and huge investments were planned, but this did not happen. During his last visit to China, the Armenian premier also tried to ensure something, but it did not work, Russia has also refused to invest heavily in Armenia and now the United States has a ground to say that Armenia does not have alternatives to normalization of relations with Turkey. Another factor in the start of the operation Zurich-2 is the visit of the Speaker of Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan to Switzerland. During the visit, the Speaker of Armenia will be processed for ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols in the parliament”, said Aram Karapetyan.

However, Hovik Abrahamyan, according to Karapetian, also performs  a different mission to "audit the accounts of the political forces of Armenia, in particular of the  opposition" in Switzerland.
