Azerbaijan agrees with Iran's proposal to mediate the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, however, the delay in this issue is connected with Armenia's disagreement, Azerbaijan's ambassador in Iran Javanshir Akhundov told in an interview with Mehr.
Iran may play an important role in the resolution of most regional issues including the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the diplomat said.
Iran has already proposed an initiative to organize the meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Iran, however, official Yerevan has rejected this proposal, the ambassador said.
