U.S. Senate Reschedules Discussions Over Bryza's Designation To Azerbaijan

E-mail Print PDF

The date of the discussions over the nomination of US Ambassador designated to Azerbaijan Mr. Mattew Bryza in the Senate whole meeting has been changed.

"This issue is still on the agenda. During today’s first discussions the Senators didn’t have a chance to discuss the nominations issue. But it is still on our agenda. We will meet next time on Friday, October 8, with the same agenda, including Mr. Bryza and Mr. Ricciardone’s issue", said a Senate source.

Meanwhile, it’s not clear yet if the nomination will be voted on, October 8 or not. However the Ambassadors’ nominations as well as Bryza’s one were put on the Senate’s next executive calendar, the source said adding that it’s extremely normal that the nominations’ discussions are rescheduled. The source explained that usually the Senate’s executive calendar is prepared for the whole session, not for one or few days: "This is up to the senators, when to vote on the nominations of Ambassadors".
