PACE adopts document calling on Armenia to return bodies of Azerbaijani soldiers.

A document calling on Armenia to return bodies of Azerbaijani ensign Mubariz Ibrahimov and officer Farid Ahmadov to Azerbaijan was adopted Wednesday on the third working day of the PACE autumn session.

This document, which has a form of a written appeal, is called 'Urgency of return of Azerbaijani soldiers’ bodies'. It was prepared by member of the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE Ganira Pashayeva and spread in CE after release in English and French, reports Trend.

The document was signed by deputies from different CE countries. Under the PACE charter, written appeals are spread not merely after their release, the presidium declared about at them at a plenary session. Even if other deputies supporting this document with their signature appear during the session, the written appeal is filled with their signatures and released again in numerous editions.

'The document, adopted by PACE, says that on June 18, Armenian armed forces attacked Azerbaijani positions from their posts in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. During the attacks the Armenian armed forces killed Azerbaijani ensign Mubariz Ibrahimov. The Armenian side rejected to give back the body of the martyred soldier and in a few days it posted the photos of the killed in the internet. Since that time despite the efforts of Azerbaijan and the International Committee of the Red Cross, Armenian authorities refuse to return Mubariz Ibrahimov’s body', the written appeal says.

The written appeal also speaks about Azerbaijani officer Farid Ahmadov.

'On September 4 Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire and attacked Azerbaijani positions from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani officer Farid Ahmedov was killed (became a martyr) while resisting the attack of the Armenian armed forces. Since that time the Armenian state has refused to return his body', the document says.

The document notes that the Armenian side during the visit of ICRC officials to the region admitted that the bodies of Mubariz Ibrahimov and Farid Ahmadov are there.

The written appeal says that such facts have a negative impact on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict peacefully.

'Stressing that such cases contradict to the international conventions and norms of international and especially have a negative impact on the delicate process of negotiations on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict peacefully, PACE urges Armenia to return the bodies of Azerbaijani ensign Mubariz Ibrahimov and officer Farid Ahmadov to Azerbaijan', the written appeal says.

During the session, the PACE chairman informed the deputies about the adoption of this document.
