E-mail Print PDF

Hundreds of children were killed and wounded, thousands of children have lost their health, have become disabled during Armenia's occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani territories, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation Ganira Pashayeva said during discussions on the report by the Turkish MP Lokman Ayva "Guaranteeing the right to education for children with illnesses or disabilities" on the fourth working day of the PACE autumn session.

The MP noted the importance of civil society organizations and prominent personalities' attention and care in this regard in all countries.

"In all countries, civil society organizations and prominent personalities' broad support to such campaigns will create an opportunity to achieve greater success. First Lady of Azerbaijan and at the same time, the President of one of the largest civil society organizations in the South Caucasus region - Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO Mehriban Aliyeva also conducts large-scale projects on education of sick children and children with disabilities, and in my opinion, anywhere in the world, paying much attention to this matter, the support of first ladies could bring positive results," she added.
