TURKSOY appreciates Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's proposal to create a fund of the organization, Duysen Kaseinov, TURKSOY Secretary General, told Trend in Strasbourg.
"It is necessary to emphasize that this fund will finance the preservation and restoration of our tangible cultural heritage, allocate funds to promote intangible cultural heritage of Turkic peoples," Kaseinov said.
He said that TURKSOY played a very important role in bringing together the peoples of the Turkic world over these years. "Politicians always react upon the sentiments and wishes of the artistic and scientific community. If the public strengthens its contacts in the field of culture, science, spiritual relations, it does not remain unnoticed. It has a certain influence on the decisions of politicians", Secretary General said.
He said that the organization continues to establish relations with all CIS countries.
"A cooperation agreement has already been signed with the International Foundation of Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS countries, as well as with UNESCO. Now we are planning to exchange delegations with Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO). I think that we will also have a point of interaction with this prestigious organization," Kaseinov said.
He said that the agreement with ISESCO may be signed by late 2010.
