E-mail Print PDF

The U.S. Department of State spokesman said on Tuesday that they were committed to resolving issues between Turkey and Armenia. U.S. State Assistant Secretary Philip J. Crowley replied to questions on several matters at a daily press briefing in Washington, D.C..

When a reporter said, "there was one-year anniversary of the Armenian-Turkish protocols a couple of days ago, and the protocols were largely mediated by the U.S. Government. I was just wondering what's going on now and are you still involved in the process. Is the U.S. Government still working with the sides, not just the Armenian and Turkish side but also with the Azerbaijani counterparts because there are obviously some objection from Azerbaijan?" Crowley said, "we remain committed to resolving these issues. It was something that Secretary Clinton discussed last month at the UN with a wide range of leaders, and we remain committed to it."
