Armenia is against creation of the subcommission on Krabakh in PACE, head of the Armenian delegation in PACE, David Harutyunyan.
He said the issue of the subcommission on Karabakh was again considered at the meeting with PACE chairman, Turkish representative Mevlut Chavushoglu.
“Our position in this issue is changeless: we believe that we must not repeat the thing that has once failed and everyone knows that the previous commission of PACE in Karabakh issue has failed”, Harutyunyan told reporters.
He said the Armenian delegation in PACE is not against communicating with the Azerbaijani delegation.
In November the chairmanship in the CE Committee of Ministers will pass to Turkey. In this respect, Harutyunyan said the Armenian delegation intends to further work as it did earlier. Turkey will chair the CE Ministers Committee until May 2011.
The head of the Armenian delegation in PACE did not rule out that Turkish issues in the agenda of the CE will appear during Turkey’s chairmanship.
“The resumption of the PACE temporary commission on Karabakh cannot be considered effective for objective reasons, since negotiations are held within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group”, Harutyunyan said.
